DMCA & Copyright Policy

Linkye is a URL shortening service. We do not host, control, or review the content found at the destination of the links our users create. We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our users to do the same.

We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and comparable laws.

Reporting a copyright infringement

If you believe a short link created on Linkye points to material that infringes your copyright, send a written notice to admin@linkye.net containing all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  3. The full Linkye short link(s) in question — for example https://linkye.net/abc123 — so we can locate them. Notices without the specific short link cannot be processed.
  4. Your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.

Please write "DMCA Notice" in the subject line. We aim to review valid notices within 5 business days.

What happens next

If your notice is valid, we will disable the reported short link so it no longer redirects, and notify the user who created it. Because we do not host the destination content, disabling the link does not remove the material itself — you may also need to contact the website or hosting provider where the content is stored.

Filing a counter-notice

If your link was disabled and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to admin@linkye.net containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the link that was disabled and its location before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the link was disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, mailing address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in your district, and that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that are the subject of repeated valid infringement notices will be suspended or terminated. We may also block specific destination domains from being shortened on our service.

Abuse of this process

Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a DMCA notice or counter-notice may expose you to liability for damages, including costs and legal fees. Please be certain before you file.
